Rare Books of the European Enlightenment
Economics, Trade & Commerce, Arts & Manufacturing
Social Sciences, History of Ideas, Book History

I specialise in rare continental books in the social sciences, economics, and philosophy. My stock is particularly strong on the European Enlightenment and the early industrial revolution, its philosophy, impact on commerce and everyday life, technological developments, and view of women. I am also interested in the practical production of books and the distribution of texts, and thus offer printers’ and engraving manuals, books on copyright laws or censorship, and early library catalogues.
I issue regular illustrated and fully annotated catalogues, which are sent out on request, and exhibit at major international book fairs, such as the California book fair, London, New York, Rome, Berlin and Tokyo.

Susanne Schulz-Falster Rare Books was founded in 1998, after nearly fifteen years in the antiquarian book trade, the last ten years as head of the economics department of Pickering & Chatto.
The business is run from an office in Islington, London, which can be reached in fifteen minutes from Oxford Circus. Visitors are very welcome to come and browse the stock, but are requested to make an appointment.
